About the Artist

Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Jadiss Chea-Nguyen is a Cambodian-American painter currently studying for a BFA at Tyler’s School of Art. Her body of work encompasses themes of self-reflection, family, and cultural identity. Jadiss draws inspiration from her Cambodian American and Buddhist heritage. Relying on personal experience, inherited stories, family photographs, and research, her work explores how ancestral knowledge and contemporary experiences with cultural disconnect, assimilation, and rediscovery inform spirituality and identity.
